Another dated contemporary without modern technology. I know it was written a very long time ago based on the note by the author at the end of the book. There would be no real way to update it either because the premise simply wouldn't work at all. Close your eyes and think back to the times when books were properly edited and authors were exalted. This h is an editor and when her position is threatened by the loss of one of her authors, she receives a letter from another saying that she was going to give up writing for a while. The h panics and changes her holiday plans to try and track down the author who wants to quit. Unfortunately the author uses a pen name and the h has no idea who she is. She works out where the author must be from and decides to visit the small town. She encounters the H there, who is also an author but publishes with a different house. His agent is a friend of the h's and the friend organises for her to have an introduction to him. Their first meeting doesn't go well and sparks fly. After that she enlists his help to find the missing author. This is one of those books where you think you know who the author is but Ms. Michaels cleverly shows you that you must be wrong. I'm giving the author 4 stars for her cleverness more than for the romance because I don't like "big misunderstandings" near the end of a book.Product details
